Specialized Programs:

Besides direct in-home health care, Elders' Helpers offers many other services.

SafetyNet Program

Our products, along with our services, are proven to provide the safety and security needed whether you're at home, running errands, medication pick-up at the pharmacy or traveling long-distance – for an affordable monthly cost.

Personal Emergency Response System/Carelink
$29.95 per month

P.E.R.S. stands for Personal Emergency Response System, which is a help call button on a necklace or bracelet to notify emergency personnel in case of a fall or medical emergency. This system can help reduce time between an accident and a medical response. It can save lives, pain, and money.

One-third of people over the age of 65 will fall this year, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The problem is greater if you take more than four medications. If you fall, fast emergency response may reduce the severity of your injuries.

Elders' Helpers P.E.R.S. is easy to use. You activate the medical alarm by pressing the button on a wristband or on a light-weight, waterproof pendant worn around the neck. In less than a minute, the system's live operators are speaking with the home. Communication is carried through the base unit of this senior monitoring system. Help is dispatched and at your door quickly.

Wireless Medical Alert/Panic Button Nationwide Range
$39.95 per month

Today's seniors are more independent and mobile than ever, and that means that emergencies – whether heart attacks, strokes, or slip-and-fall accidents – can occur far from home. In an emergency, every second counts.

If you are in trouble whether at home or hundreds of miles away, and you are too disoriented, immobilized, or distraught to dial a phone number, just push a single wireless panic button and help is on the way.

Automated Pill Dispenser and Medication Reminder
$39.95 per month

Some of the most worrisome problems for seniors at home revolve around timely, accurate medication compliance. What creates this problem? Fifty percent of people polled said they don't always remember to take prescribed medications.

Elders' Helpers MedReady Boxes are easy to use. Our technician or registered nurse comes to your home and activates the MedReady box. They sit down with you, review how the dispenser works, and stay while you participate in hands-on trial testing. Afler that, it's easy-the box does all the work!

Senior Millage programs:

The Kent County Senior Millage (KCSM) assists residents of Kent County over the age of 60. Residents must qualify financially and may be required to pay a portion of the cost. Elders' Helpers administers several of its programs.

These programs are administered by the Area Agency on Aging West Michigan and brought to you with funding provided by the Kent County Senior Millage.

Medication Management:

Elders' Helpers has been the sole provider of the Medication Management Program through Kent County Senior Millage since 2007. Through this program, Elders' Helpers' nurses make biweekly visits to residents' homes. During these visits, the nurses can (a) distribute medication into pill boxes, (b) reorder prescriptions or changes in prescriptions, (c) monitor vital signs, and (d) keep in contact with doctors and pharmacists to ensure proper medication management.

Personal Emergency Response System/Carelink

P.E.R.S. stands for Personal Emergency Response System, another service through Kent County Senior Millage. It is a help call button on a necklace or bracelet to notify emergency personnel in case of a fall or medical emergency. This system can help reduce time between an accident and a medical response. It can save lives, pain, and money. In less than a minute, the system's live operators are speaking with the home. Communication is carried through the base unit of this senior monitoring system. Help is dispatched and at your door quickly.

Respite Vouchers

If you have an Area Agency on Aging of West Michigan Caregiver Respite Certificate, Elders' Helpers is an approved agency and would be happy to give family members a rest from their caregiving duties.

Daily Connections

Sometimes the only help you need is a daily phone call to check on your well-being. If this sounds like you or a loved one, call Elders' Helpers and we can enroll the senior living alone in our Daily Connections program for free. Once enrolled, a volunteer will call once a day; if there is no response, the people whom you've designated as your emergency contacts are notified. It is a simple, nonintrusive option to monitor a loved one's safety.
