Thank You Friends for Your Support of Our Caregivers and Clients
Face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer, the things we take for granted in non-pandemic times mean so much now when the community steps forward to make sure we have them at Elders’ Helpers.
Although we felt we were fully prepared with protective gear, we had no idea how many gloves, masks and hand sanitizer we would distribute in a short amount of time to our caregivers and nurses.
We soon realized we did not have a large enough supply of any of these products and would not receive our online orders in time before our original stock ran out. We reached out to the community and their response was immediate and heartwarming.
Our friends from Area Agency on Aging West Michigan who always do so much to support seniors, pitched in to provide disposable masks at a critical time.
Amway Corporation came through in a hurry with a same day delivery of hand sanitizer just weeks after their first donation of the sanitizer.
Thanks also to Don Goeree of New Planet Promotions. When we called him in desperation for hand sanitizer bottles he came through within one week.
While the office is closed at our favorite neighborhood dentists, Stonecastle Dentistry, they donated disposable masks to help keep us supplied.
Special thanks to Ray Thomas from One Stop Promotions and Apparel for all his patience and assistance when delivery of our disposable mask order was continuously delayed.
Thanks also to those with nimble fingers and sewing machines such as Heidi Allen, friend of Tammy (one of our talented client coordinators) who provided us with brightly colored cloth face masks.
Gaye Garland, office manager at our Holland office, worked tirelessly on nights and weekends sewing masks for our caregivers.
Liz McCulloch of Seniors Moving Smarter rallied her team to make face masks (like those in the photo) when their office was deferred from helping clients pack up and move from their homes to new locations.
